HOUSTON FEST
This festival is going to be awsome!
Line Up
Artists in Galax and surrounding communities are often referred to as a “family” of musicians, and they are always ready and willing to gather in support when one of their own is in need. When we began calling on musicians and others to help us organize this event to carry on the legacy of Houston, the response was, and continues to be overwhelming.
Numerous talented performers have stepped up to show their love and support of Houston and his family by contributing time and talent during HoustonFest. There definitely will be no shortage of incredible bluegrass and oldtime mountain music at Felts Park in Galax on May 6 & 7, 2011!
Cherryholmes
With their roots based in bluegrass, Celtic, and jazz music, Cherryholmes has stormed to the top of the music world since winning the 2005 IBMA (International Bluegrass Music Association) Award for Entertainer of the Year.

Website Updated
Hello!
Just thought I’d let you know this Barrs Fiddle Shop website has been updated. Check back soon for more videos, more links to the area and news about the Bluegrass capital, Galax, Virginia. Stevie’s helping a customer pick out a banjo now. We had some folks from Norway in this morning (how cool is that!) who had found Stevie from the Crooked Road information. Barr’s Fiddle Shop really is a must-see stop on your way through our neck of the woods! Come in and buy some instruments, get some answers or find a few supplies!
